Education is the major factor for the social change and development. As
Chinese proverb demands “If you are planning for a year, plant some
rice. If you are planning for ten years, plant a tree. If you are
planning for 100 years, open a school” educating people will give long
lasting result. Our main focus is in the education sector and we are
dedicated to bring social changes in Nepal through education. This why,
we have designed various educational based volunteering programme as
bellow:
Student Programme Volunteer
School education began in Nepal with the establishment of first school in 1853 (The Durbar High School). However, this school was only for the members of the ruling Rana families and their courtiers. Schooling for the general people began only after 1951 when a popular movement ended an autocratic family regime and initiated a democratic system. In Nepal, school education includes primary level of grades 1-5, lower secondary and secondary levels of grades 6-8 and 9-10 respectively. Pre-primary level of education is also available in certain areas. Six years of age is the prescribed age for getting admission in grade one. A national level School Leaving Certificate Examination is conducted at the end of grade ten.
An experience of living with a community of
monetarily poor but wisdom wise people and teaching in a school of
remote Himalaya is not for everyone, and is certainly not something
to be taken on lightly; but volunteering is the most direct and
rewarding way of assisting in the educational prospects of the
Himalayan peoples. Volunteers will be involved in teaching subjects like English,
Mathematics, and Science in a government or private run primary,
secondary or high level schools. As most books are in Nepali, you can
design your own course as an extra subject with co-ordination and
discussion with headmaster or fellow teachers.
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher
explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher
inspires."

Physical Education (Athletics & Sport)
As we know athletic and sport is an important part of our life in
order to keep ourselves healthy and happy as well as vibrant and
tolerant. The equal doses of academic education and physical
education will make a person able to address any sort of obstacle of
life. In this sophisticated, busy and environmentally polluted
world, everyday we are in need of more physical practice such as
athletics and yoga in order to keep ourselves smart and fit.
Physical Education is a necessity for everyone no matter whether
child, youth or old.
In Nepal many primary and high school are employing athletic trainer
to deliver the preventive and rehabilitation needs of their
students. Students are required to participate a physical exercise
session every morning at least for half hour before their class
start. In the classes of lower secondary and secondary school, there
is a specific course for health & physical education. Different type
of sport activities is being organized frequently in the school.
If you are dynamic person having knowledge of any athletic, general
sport or defensive sports such as, Tekwando, Karate, Martial arts
etc, then you will have a volunteering opportunity to share your
knowledge with our children and youths in the various part of the
country.
